At Additive Sustainability, we believe industry stakeholders should widen their viewpoints; buildings form part of a system in addition to the resources consumed by them. Using this outlook, we can transform our own methods and jointly create the demand that innovations need to become commercially viable.

What Inspires Additive Sustainability?

Small organizations account for most of the construction industry workforce¹, contributing significantly to some 25% of UK greenhouse gas emissions attributed to the construction sector².
Additive is a consultancy aimed at making sustainability and circularity more achievable by providing education around sustainability to professionals in the built environment. We also assist with project setup and evaluation to help actualise sustainable design intent.

Our Team

Amira began her career as a structural engineer focused on the commercial and residential sectors, working with concrete and steel on mid-rise buildings as well as traditional construction for domestic buildings. Her experience extends to managing the structural design of mixed-use developments with over 500 homes.

She believes sustainable strategy must align with businesses where they’re currently at, so that it is not considered a thing of the future (or for others) and so that impacts materialise in the short term. This means making sure each project has access to the knowledge it needs and that knowledge translates into what is being built.

She has obtained both ICE and IStructE charterships, driven by a commitment to understanding design techniques and presenting nuanced solutions to clients. She launched Additive Sustainability in 2025, hoping to be an accessible place for industry knowledge and collaboration.
